Philosophical Consultation

Has life activated your mind into a tizzy, and you’d like some philosophical clarity on whatever is the matter? Or would you like to hear what a philosopher from history might have to say? Perhaps you’re a student who is stuck on a philosophical topic, or looking for someone to oversee an independent study? Or maybe you’d like a professional perspective on your paper/project? Well, we here at the LCP Foundation have you covered, at prices only a nonprofit can provide – that is, pay what you are able to pay! We have included suggested prices for each of our consultation service packages. However, if you are in a pinch and can only afford a fraction of the suggested price, no worries. We’ll work with you to establish a payment option which works for you. Note that our suggested prices are for individuals. Please reach out to us about our group rates!

We would like to note that philosophical consultation services are not a replacement for therapy or other psychological services. We are not trained or licensed to provide therapy or psychological services. Our services are strictly educational. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please reach out to licensed psychological professionals for help.

Service Packages

  • General Consulting: We recommend this service package for those seeking professional philosophical discussion over any of life’s matters, whether it be for the personal thoughts of our staff on said matters or our staff’s specialized insights on what a philosopher from the classical tradition of philosophy might think about said matters. Pricing for these services run at $80/HR.
  • General Tutoring: We recommend this service package for those who are already enrolled in a high school or college level philosophy course, with access to their institution’s library resources, and may need a little extra help with their readings. We also recommend this service package for any LCP Academy Member Students who are stuck on topics and need specific guidance which the discussion boards cannot fulfill. Pricing for these services run at $25/HR.
  • Personalized Tutoring: We recommend this service package for those taking an independent study which their institution is unable to instructionally oversee, or those who are looking to create their own independent course of study outside of an institutional setting. These services will recur over some length of time, usually over the course of a typical semester. However, you may work with our staff to create a timetable of study which works best for your pursuits. These services will provide a syllabus which outlines your individual course of study, graded (albeit non-accredited) assignments, digitized primary material and pertinent scholarly articles, and paper editing. We can create a general course based on the nature of your independent study, but we can also structure these courses to fit your particular interests or needs. For example, maybe you are a high school senior preparing to enter college as a Pre-Med major who is interested in Ethics – we can structure a Moral Philosophy course which focuses on the Philosophy of Medicine and Bio Medical Ethics. Or maybe you are interested in entering a Pre-Law program – we can structure a Moral Philosophy Course which focuses more on logic and studies Classical Philosophy through the lens of jurisprudence. Perhaps you are interested in literature, music, or any other field of study – there is a philosophy for every field of study, and each field of study offers a wonderful lens through which we may approach Classical Philosophy. Let us know what interests you most, and we will develop your course to help illuminate whichever path of study you choose. Pricing for these services runs at $40/HR.
  • Paper/Project Editing: We recommend these services for those who have a philosophy paper/project in need of professional edits – proofing, general style/flow, and argumentation. Pricing for these services runs at $2.00/page.
